Problems solved by technology

However, the imaging device of the charge-coupled device is expensive and consumes high power
[0004] Although the use of complementary metal oxide semiconductor (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor, CMOS) circuit can achieve low power, high accumulation and high speed, but it has high noise
While noise can be reduced by using a 4-transistor (4T) pixel architecture, 4T pixels use rolling shutter technology

Embodiment Construction

[0038] The complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor of the embodiment of the present invention configures the pixel separation distance along the track direction (along-track direction) to compensate for the time delay (timedelay integration, TDI) imaging when using a rolling shutter. The travel time is poor. In this way, the continuous image frame can accumulate pixel data corresponding to the same position in the captured scene to increase the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), wherein the number of times of accumulation is related to the size of the pixel array.

[0039] The concept of time-delay imaging is known, and the present invention aims to eliminate the imaging distortion produced when the TDI CMOS image sensor uses rolling shutter technology.

Abstract

The invention provides a time delay integral sensor using a rolling shutter. The delay integral sensor comprises a plurality of pixel columns. Each pixel column comprises a plurality of pixels arranged along the track direction, wherein a separation distance is arranged between two adjacent pixels or two adjacent pixel groups of each pixel column. The separation distance is equal to a pixel height multiplied by a time ratio of a row time difference of a rolling shutter to a frame period, or equal to at least one pixel height plus the pixel height multiplied by the time ratio of the row time difference to the frame period. The time delay integration sensor may vary the column time difference without changing the separation distance.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a time-delay integration sensor, in particular to a time-delay integration complementary metal oxide semiconductor image sensor which adopts space compensation to realize the use of a rolling shutter. Background technique [0002] A time delay integration (TDI) sensor uses an area array image sensor to acquire images from an imaging platform that moves at a constant speed relative to the imaged object or scene. A time-delay-integrating sensor can be conceptually viewed as a stack of linear arrays, where each linear array traverses the same scene point in the time it takes the sensor to move a column of pixel distance. [0003] Traditionally, only charge coupled device (CCD) technology is suitable for time-delay integration applications, because a charge-coupled device essentially operates by transferring charge between pixels, and when the sensor crosses the scene of the imaged scene Dot time causes charge to accumulate betwee...
