Embodiment Construction

[0017] figure 1 The reference number 1 in it represents the entire production plant for the production of rigid packs 2 of cigarettes (see FIG. 4 ). The package 2 comprises a cup-shaped body 3 and a lid 4 hinged on the cup-shaped body 3 . The cup-shaped body 3 comprises a front wall 5 , two side walls 6 (only one is shown in FIG. 4 ), a bottom wall 7 and a known rear wall (not shown in the figure). The cover body 4 includes a front wall 5a, two side walls 6a (only one is shown in FIG. 4 ) and known top and rear walls (not shown in the figure). The side walls 6 and 6a are connected by opposing rounded edges 8 to each front wall 5, 5a and to each rear wall.

[0018] The package 2 is formed from a substantially flat cardboard 9 (shown in a partially folded configuration in FIG. 3 ) comprising a central part 10 and a number of side panels 11 arranged symmetrically on opposite sides of the central part 10 . The central part 10 comprises a series of panels arranged along the long...

Abstract

A method and machine (1) for producing a packet (2), whereby, as it is fed along a feed path (P), a substantially flat blank (9) with preformed fold lines (13) is extracted from the feed (P) for transfer, crosswise to the feed path (P), to a stretch-folding station (21) for stretching at least some of the fold lines (13), and is then fed back onto the feed path (P) and allowed to spring back to its original flat shape.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method of producing a package. [0002] The present invention can also be preferably used on the packaging of some cigarettes, and the present invention will be described more fully below by way of examples. Background technique [0003] Recently, there has been an increasing demand for some cigarette packages with non-sharp edges, such as some with rounded edges. [0004] Manufacturing a package with rounded edges from flat white paperboard requires a delicate process. In particular, due to the high operating speeds of today's packaging machines, the portion of the cardboard which finally forms the rounded edge of the pack must often be stretched before the cardboard is folded around a group of cigarettes enclosed in a wrapping foil. [0005] To this end, some known packaging machines include a linear conveyor for feeding the cardboard to the folding wheels; required part. At the end of the stationary track, the cardboar...
