Abstract

The paper width detector includes at least one paper guiding plate, one conducting assembly, one circuit board and one circuit processing unit. The paper guiding plate capable of moving is set on the paper feeding box to hold paper; the conducting assembly has several conductor parts; the circuit board has several lines of wires to form several second separated conducting parts with insulating area in between; and the controlling and processing unit provides one voltage across the wires and the conducting assembly. In case of jamming paper, the first conducting part and the second conducting part contact electrically corresponding the insulating area, and the controlling and processing unit forms one digital signal based on the passage formed between the first conducting part and corresponding wires to generate one paper width value.
