Abstract

A heat pump system for heating a fluid (6), said system comprising: an evaporator (1) for extracting heat from a heat source (3) to evaporate a refrigerant; fluidly connected to said evaporator (1) and a compressor (4) for compressing said refrigerant vapor; a compressor (4) fluidly connected to said compressor (4) for transferring heat from said compressed refrigerant to said fluid (6) a condenser (5); a main telescoping regulator (10) fluidly connecting said condenser (5) to said evaporator (1) for lowering the temperature of the refrigerant; means (8) for diverting and lowering the temperature of a portion of said refrigerant of said compressor (5); and means for injecting a portion of said lowered refrigerant into said compressor (4) via a fluid ( 9), whereby the temperature-reduced refrigerant portion is mixed with the refrigerant vapor at an intermediate pressure and causes the refrigerant vapor and the refrigerant to be discharged into the condenser (5) The refrigerant portion is compressed in at least a quasi-two stage.
