Embodiment Construction

[0037] figure 1 and 2 show a mower having a mower chassis 2 with a right hand wheel 4 mounted thereto and a left hand wheel 6 ready for assembly. In use, but not shown for clarity, a power source, typically an electric motor or a small gasoline engine, is mounted on the upper side of the chassis and includes either a direct drive shaft or an indirect drive comprising a drive shaft, on which the cutting blade is mounted. on the drive shaft for rotation about a vertical axis.

[0038] The means for raising and lowering the lawnmower chassis relative to the ground engaging surfaces of the wheels 4, 6 are shown in detail in Figs. 2 to 5 . It should be understood that the inventive apparatus can be realized in ways other than those described in the embodiments and that the positioning and dimensions of the components can be adjusted without departing from the invention.

[0039] Referring to Figures 2 to 5, four mounting points 8 are provided on the chassis. Each mounting point ...

Abstract

The present invention relates to improvements in or relating to lawncare apparatus. In particular, it relates to apparatus for adjusting the working height of a lawncare machine. We describe a lawncare apparatus comprises a chassis, at least one axle defining a first axis (12), the axle having first and second axle ends, and a wheel (6) mounted for rotation at each of said first and second axle ends; wherein each of said first and second axle ends is carried by a respective adjustment member (10) mounted for rotation about a respective second axis (24) upon the chassis of the machine, wherein the second axis is non-coaxial with the first axis. Preferably, each axle is mounted for pivotal movement about the second axis within an arcuate slot (18) in the chassis.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to improvements in or relating to lawn maintenance equipment. In particular, it relates to devices for adjusting the working height of lawnmowers. [0002] For example, the present invention specifically describes a lawnmower having means for adjusting its cutting height. To vary the cutting height of a lawn mower, the front wheels, rear wheels, or two sets of ground engaging wheels or rollers are conventionally raised or lowered relative to a deck that supports a motor or motor that drives the rotating cutting elements. Background technique [0003] In one known arrangement, the lawnmower comprises a front and a rear axle connected by a connecting piece, then the connecting piece itself or one of the front / rear axles can be connected to the platform, for example by means of a further rod, said rod The platform can be engaged in many alternative positions. [0004] GB 2 367 475 describes a lawn mower having front and re...
