[0002] The present invention generally provides combinations of antioxidants for use in ruminant feed rations. The antioxidant combinations, when fed to ruminant animals, reduce the formation of free radicals in the diet, improve nutrient digestion, and optimize fermentation in the rumen of the animal. In addition, the present invention also provides methods for increasing milk production and / or milk fat, for improving the antioxidant status of the ruminant, and for reducing the negative rumen effect associated with feeding a non-inert fat source to a ruminant animal.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
