Aminopyralid is a selective herbicide used for control of broadleaf weeds, especially thistles and clovers. It is in the picolinic acid family of herbicides, which also includes clopyralid, picloram, triclopyr, and several less common herbicides. It was first registered for use in 2005, in the USA under the brand name "Milestone" and later under various names starting with "Grazon" . In the UK it is sold under the brand names Banish, Forefront, Halcyon, Pharaoh, Pro-Banish, Runway, Synero, and Upfront.

The present invention provides an herbicidal formulation comprising: (i) aminopyralid in the form of a free acid; (ii) a solvent combination comprising dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and an additional solvent selected from an amide-based solvent; a ketone- based solvent; and a mixture thereof; and (iii) at least one surfactant.

Weeding composition and application thereof
The invention provides a weeding composition which comprises 2, 4 drops, fluroxypyr-mepthyl and aminopyralid, and the acid equivalent weight ratio of the 2, 4 drops, the fluroxypyr-mepthyl and the aminopyralid is (1-50): (1-50): (1-50). The composition can be prepared into various dosage forms such as missible oil, wettable powder, water dispersible granules, a suspending agent, an emulsion in water and the like. Indoor virulence tests prove that compounding of the three components can achieve remarkable synergistic interaction. Field trials show that the ternary weeding composition has a high control effect on broadleaf weeds in corn fields, and the risk of aminopyralid residue can be reduced.

The invention relates to a herbicidal composition comprising Aminopyralid or agriculturally acceptable salts and esters thereof in the range of 0.1% w / w to 65% w / w of the total composition; Metribuzin or agriculturally acceptable salts thereof in the range 0.1% w / w to 80% w / w of the total composition; and at least one agrochemically acceptable excipient; wherein the composition comprises particles in the size range of 0.1 micron to 50 microns. The invention further relates to a process of preparation of the herbicidal composition and to a method of treating weeds or the unwanted vegetation or the plant propagation material, locus or plant parts thereof, a seed, seedling or surrounding soil with the herbicidal composition.
