The present invention is directed to an apparatus for use in cooking over an open fire. Specifically, the invention discloses a tripod having a grill suspended therefrom. The tripod includes an elongate adjustment rod with a distantly situated handle. By attaching the suspension line, holding the grill to the handle, which is slidingly affixed to one leg of the tripod, the height of the grill over the fire can be changed. This arrangement allows the grill to be adjusted over the fire to accommodate the heat of the fire or to provide a preferred cooking temperature for the articles on the grill without adjusting the grill directly or having to touch the hot surfaces near the fire.

An open fire multipurpose cooking grill generally comprising a metal “T” shaped stake that can be optionally driven into the ground or placed into a base stand holder in positioned near a campfire, patio fire-bowl, fire-ring, or charcoal container for cooking and tending to food, generally outdoors. Optionally, a grill can be positioned on or over the containment wall to receive heat from the campfire.

An apparatus to assist in cooking over a campfire is herein disclosed, comprising a generally “Y”-shaped support that rests over an open fire by means of three (3) legs. An adjustable steel cable, controlled by a mechanically-operated winch, is provided at the center of the “Y”-shaped support, which depends downward and connects centrally to four (4) chains, each of which connects to a corner of a rectangular grilling surface. A campfire support unit for burning firewood. The unit has a metal frame that includes a metal support ring with metal tabs and support legs. Apparatus for simulating a campfire includes a fire pan, a diffuser element in the pan interior and a gas injector extending into the interior. The gas injector has an outlet-that introduces vaporized fuel so that the diffuser element disperses the vaporized fuel about the pan interior. Non-flammable particulate material may be provided at a depth sufficient to cover the outlet. A lid may be secured to the pan, for example, by the diffuser element.
