An improved gutter shield device includes a first connecting plane of roll formed metal, a second filtering plane of roll formed metal and metallic or polymer cloth, and a third connecting plane of roll formed metal combined into an integral unit.

An elongated strip of roll formed metal includes a rear vertical plane adapted to seat beneath shingles of a roof structure. A solid oxide fuel assembly is made, wherein rows (14, 24) of fuel cells (16, 18, 20, 26, 28, 30), each having an outer interconnection (36) and an outer electrode (32), are disposed next to each other with corrugated, electrically conducting expanded metal mesh (22) between each row of cells, the corrugated mesh (22) having top crown portions (40) and bottom shoulder portions (42), where the top crown portion (40) contacts outer interconnections (36) of the fuel cells (16, 18, 20) in a first row (14), and the bottom shoulder portions (42) contacts outer electrodes (32) of the fuel cells in a second row (24), said mesh electrically connecting each row of fuel cells, and where there are no metal felt connections between any fuel cells.

A one-piece, integral metal gutter screen includes an expanded metal screen section for covering a gutter. A front edge margin is sized and shaped to engage the gutter, the front edge margin having no sharp edges. A rear edge margin is sized and shaped to engage at least one of a gutter hanger and a roof, the rear edge margin having no sharp edges. The gutter screen is formed of a single piece of elongate, flexible, resilient metal. The gutter screen includes strands and non-circular holes between the strands in at least the screen section. The present invention relates to a method of forming metallic foams using cold spray processing. The method allows for the formation of metallic foams on existing substrates as a layer. The method includes the steps of providing a substrate for coating of a metallic foam; cold spraying a mixture of metal particles and a foaming agent onto the substrate to form a substrate coated with an unexpanded metallic layer; foam heat treating the substrate coated with an unexpanded metallic layer at a temperature above the decomposition temperature of the foaming agent for a time sufficient to form a heated substrate coated with an expanded metal foam layer; and cooling the heated substrate coated with an expanded metal foam layer to about ambient temperature to form a cooled substrate coated with an expanded metal foam layer. The method of forming metallic foams on substrates finds application in the oil, gas, and chemical industry by being an integral part of casings, pipelines, transfer lines, and other flow lines.

A three-section foldable loading ramp extends a pick-up truck's cargo area to accommodate heavy and lengthy items. The first or frame section of the present loading ramp installs onto the existing tailgate slip hinges in place of the tailgate without tools or modification of the vehicle. Upper and lower ramp sections are pivotally connected to each other and to the frame section in a similar manner. An arm carried by the first frame section pivots down onto the vehicle's hitch for additional support for the ramp; two legs pivot down from the upper ramp to engage the ground provide further support. An air ventilation system, comprising an air inlet for admitting contaminated air into the ventilation system, an air outlet for discharging decontaminated air from the ventilation, and an ultra-violet light source disposed therebetween. The ventilation system has a filter disposed upstream of the ultra-violet light source. The filter has a grease particle separator with at least two layers of expanded metal associated therewith. Each has a predetermined number of apertures forming a reticulum. A cartridge filter may be provided for each grease particle separator and disposed upstream thereof. A highly fire resistant construction board is produced by embedding a sheet of expanded metal net in a building board made from a water settable inorganic binder. The method is characterized by comprising the steps of (1) forming an electrode active material layer on a surface of a base material by using an electrode composition containing an electrode active material, an electroconductive material, and a binder, (2) laminating a current collector on the electrode active material layer formed on the surface of the base material, followed by hot pressing to bond the electrode active material layer and the current collector to each other, and (3) separating the base material from the electrode active material layer.

A solid oxide fuel assembly is made, wherein rows (14, 25) of fuel cells (17, 19, 21, 27, 29, 31), each having an outer interconnection (20) and an outer electrode (32), are disposed next to each other with corrugated, electrically conducting expanded metal mesh member (22) between each row of cells, the corrugated mesh (22) having top crown portions and bottom portions, where the top crown portion (40) have a top bonded open cell nickel foam (51) which contacts outer interconnections (20) of the fuel cells, said mesh and nickel foam electrically connecting each row of fuel cells, and where there are no more metal felt connections between any fuel cells.

An improved non-aqueous electrolyte cell according to this invention includes a negative electrode which is a composite sintered body of a carbonaceous sintered material retained on an expanded metal mesh collector. The expanded metal mesh has a sheet thickness T, a mesh long width center distance LW, a mesh short width center distance SW, a mesh long width maximum opening, a; and a mesh short width maximum opening, b, all carefully specified to obey predetermined conditions in order to provide improved secondary cells having high energy density.
