This product is an algal
reef used to cultivate seaweed. As shown in the "Reference Perspective View Diagram Showing the Names of Each Part," the algal
reef is composed of a base, anchor bars extending approximately vertically downward from the base, a frame placed on top of the base, and a cage placed on top of the frame. The base is formed as a low, bottomed rectangular tube. The periphery of the base is formed by a base frame consisting of plate members with a roughly L-shaped vertical cross-section. A flat bottom (base bottom) made of a
metal mesh member such as
expanded metal is joined to the lower periphery of the base frame, and
diagonal braces made of strip-shaped thin plate members are arranged inside the base frame. Near the four corners of the base frame, anchor bars are arranged to extend approximately vertically downward. The four anchor bars are each composed of, for example, screw sticks with a screw positioned downward for drilling into the
seabed. The frame placed on the base consists, for example, of a rectangular flat base and column sections positioned at the four corners of this base. The periphery of the base is formed by beams made of rod members such as pipes, and a base plate (basket support base plate) on which the cage is placed is attached via receiving members positioned at the four corners of these beams. The basket support base plate is made of a
metal mesh member such as
expanded metal. The frame is fixed to the bracing of the base via the column sections made of rod members such as pipes. A net is stretched over the surface of the cage placed on top of the frame to allow seaweed to grow. The form of the cage is not limited to any particular form as long as it allows the net to be installed within a predetermined range. For example, it may be a form in which the net is stretched over at least a portion of the surface of a polygon including a
prism or
pyramid, a form in which the net is stretched over at least a portion of the surface of a cylinder or cone, a form in which the net is stretched over a cylindrical shape, a form in which the net is stretched over a curved surface including a plane or a sphere or hemisphere, or a form that combines at least two of these forms."Reference perspective view 1 showing the state of use" shows an example of the use of the algal
reef in which a cage with nets stretched across the six planes forming the surface of a rectangular
prism is placed on top of a stand. "Reference perspective view 2 showing the state of use" shows an example of the use of the algal reef in which a cage with nets stretched across a cylindrical shape is placed on top of a stand. "Reference perspective view 3 showing the state of use" shows an example of the use of the algal reef in which three cages with nets stretched along a plane are placed on top of a stand.
