Computer-aided dispatch (CAD), also called computer-assisted dispatch, is a method of dispatching taxicabs, couriers, field service technicians, mass transit vehicles or emergency services assisted by computer. It can either be used to send messages to the dispatchee via a mobile data terminal (MDT) and/or used to store and retrieve data (i.e. radio logs, field interviews, client information, schedules, etc.). A dispatcher may announce the call details to field units over a two-way radio. Some systems communicate using a two-way radio system's selective calling features. CAD systems may send text messages with call-for-service details to alphanumeric pagers or wireless telephony text services like SMS. The central idea is that persons in a dispatch center are able to easily view and understand the status of all units being dispatched. CAD provides displays and tools so that the dispatcher has an opportunity to handle calls-for-service as efficiently as possible.

System and method of aggregating and disseminating in-case-of-emergency medical and personal information

A system for aggregating and disseminating in-case-of-emergency (ICE) medical information to medical units. The system includes an ICE medical record server that stores medical records of respective subscribers, and automatically receive updates from health service entities visited by subscribers. When contacted by emergency dispatchers or first responders, the server sends subscribers medical information to first responders, emergency management agencies directly, via a dispatcher, or via a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system. The medical information may be arranged, emphasized, and / or filtered in a manner relevant to the on-going emergency. A communication device may wirelessly receive the medical information and pre-populate a pre-hospital care form with the information, which may be further orally annotated by the first responder. The completed PCR may then be sent to a PCR server for subsequent access by medical units that subsequently treat the subscriber. The medical server may further assist a public health agency to disseminate emergency information to selected subscribers, responders, and public health alerting systems. An ICE personal server for storing important personal documents is also disclosed. A PCR server is also disclosed that can disseminate aggregate PCR information in near real-time to an emergency management agency (EMA) system for developing incident response plans during a wide area emergency.

Dynamically integrating disparate computer-aided dispatch systems

Systems and methods for dynamically integrating disparate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems are disclosed. The systems and methods provide bi-directional interoperability between disparate CAD systems and maintain stateful ongoing interactions between interconnected CAD systems. Information objects in one CAD system are associated and bound to related objects in other CAD systems through a centralized information hub that transforms data items intelligently to facilitate communication and interaction between the CAD systems connected to the hub. The described systems and methods maintain complete and current perspectives of all relevant information for each CAD system connected to the information hub, thereby eliminating the need for point-to-point intelligence maintained by the CAD systems about the other interconnected CAD systems. As information updates are passed from CAD systems to the information hub and back out to other CAD systems, the information hub transforms and evaluates the information updates ensuring that only necessary information updates are forwarded.

InactiveUS20150281927A1Integrated solutionEmergency connection handlingTelephonic communicationComputer-aided dispatchEmergency medical dispatch
A computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system that enables dispatch of emergency services resources based on user-defined resource restrictions. The CAD system includes a server system that enables users to create resource restrictions (e.g., a geographic restriction, a time restriction, and / or a qualification restriction) on the fly such that each created resource restriction is available in real time to the users, and then apply the created resource restrictions to the appropriate resources stored in a database. The server system also enables users to create transfer orders each of which defines required criteria for a transfer event, and then assign resources to the transfer event that are not associated with any resource restriction that conflicts with the required criteria defined in the transfer order.

Computer assisted dispatch incident report video search and tagging systems and methods

A video tagging method, a video analytics method, and a Computer Assisted Dispatch (CAD) system use incident reports for video tagging and searching. A CAD system is integrated with field-based video surveillance systems to aid in searching video content and subsequent tagging of the video content. The systems and methods can include extracting keywords from a CAD incident report and creating a small, focused, and incident-specific dictionary on which to perform video searching in real-time. The small, focused, and incident-specific dictionary increases tagging accuracy and reduces tagging processing time in the context of video analytics. Further, a multi-pass approach in real-time continually updates and disseminates to video cameras of interest the small, focused, and incident-specific dictionary as the CAD incident report is updated and as the incident of interest plays out.

Online street safety map system displaying crime density and traffic accident data

An interactive street safety map system for internet, GPS, and mobile users is disclosed. The system is designed to identify crime and traffic accidents information at street level. Each street segment on the map indicates low to high density of crime and traffic accidents in different colors in order to improve public perception of safety on each of the streets displayed. The system includes crime and traffic accident data, and the system users can query the data for their interest locations, crime types, crime date and time of occurrence, and the number of crime incidents and traffic accidents. Ultimately, the online street safety map allows users to choose relatively low risk of crime and traffic accident streets for their own safety. The system harvests crime and traffic information data from police departments through Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Recorded Management Systems (RMS), and other crime and traffic information sharing services.

Computer-Aided Dispatch Systems and Methods Utilizing Biometrics to Assess Responder Condition and Suitability

A Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system is specially configured to account for the physical condition of emergency personnel, which can affect their ability to effectively handle a particular incident. The CAD system tracks health, stress, and biometric status of each available emergency responder automatically and in real-time based on a wide range of collected information and to assess the suitability of available emergency responders to respond to a given emergency incident based upon such status information. Based on such status information, the CAD system can make intelligent recommendations to the emergency dispatcher by taking into account such things as the emergency responder's past experiences with a particular type of emergency incident, the current and cumulative status of the emergency responder, and projections as to the future condition of the emergency responder if dispatched to handle the emergency incident.
