Problems solved by technology

[0009] When manufacturing RGB packages for FSC LCDs, RGB LED chips must be mounted in a limited space, and it may be difficult to obtain space for mounting anti-static circuits
In addition, when RGB LED chips are mounted on the surface of a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB), the resulting static electricity damages the RGB LED chips, reducing yield

Abstract

An electrostatic preventing device for light emitting diodes (LED), operative to backlight a liquid crystal display (LCD) device is disclosed. The device includes RGB assemblies installed on a flexible circuit board, and an electrostatic preventing circuit separately installed on the flexible circuit board. The device is adapted to protect RGB LED chips inside each RGB package for backlight, mounted in the RGB assemblies, from static electricity.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an anti-static discharge device for light-emitting diodes (LEDs) used to provide backlights for liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Specifically, the present invention relates to an antistatic discharge device in which an antistatic circuit is provided on a printed circuit board on which LEDs are mounted. Background technique [0002] LCD devices can display images by using optical anisotropy properties of liquid crystals. When light is irradiated on liquid crystals having polarization characteristics according to an applied voltage, the liquid crystals are aligned. The LCD device displays images by controlling the amount of light passing through liquid crystals according to the alignment state of the liquid crystals. [0003] The LCD device includes a liquid crystal panel containing liquid crystal between two substrates, and a driving circuit disposed at a peripheral portion of the liquid crystal panel for applying a sig...
