The movable sinker (16) has a thin portion (16d) and a thick portion (16c). The thin portion (16d) is thinner than the width of the sinker groove (12c) on the inner peripheral side including the portion contained in the sinker groove (12c). The thick portion (16c) is formed to coverthe gap between the sinker groove (12c) and the thin portion (16d) on the outer peripheral side projecting farther to the tooth mouth (13) side than the sinker groove (12c). Since the thick portion (16c) is thicker than the width of the sinker groove (12c) and covers the gap between the sinker groove (12c) and the thin portion (16d), the knitting yarn is infallibly prevented from falling into thegap.
