Embodiment Construction

[0046]Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the ice duct opening and closing device of the refrigerator according to the first embodiment. The refrigerator according to the first embodiment includes an ice duct opening and closing device 13 for opening and closing the ice duct 12 in response to a user's operation. As shown in FIG. 4 , the ice duct opening and closing device 13 includes a mount 51 mounted on the freezer door 4 through a connection member such as a screw. The mount 51 serves as a mount plate for rotatably supporting the operating lever 62 and the duct cover shaft 70 of the opening and closing device. The mounting piece 51 prevents the ice cubes output from the ice duct 12 from bouncing back in the advancing direction of the dispenser or in the lateral direction. At the bottom of the ice duct 12 is formed a pipe means 52 .

[0047] A micro switch 90 is provided on the mount 51 . The micro switch 90 is actuated by the operating rod 62 of the opening and closing devic...

Abstract

A refrigerator with an ice dispenser includes a spiral type time delay unit for controlling the opening and closing of an ice duct. A duct cap opens and closes an ice duct formed in the refrigerator. A rotating shaft of the time delay unit is operably connected to the duct cap. Foldaway catching members on a rotating shaft intersect with a threaded cylindrical body. The catching members fold back to allow a quick opening of the ice duct. The catching members then interact with the threaded cylindrical body as the ice duct closes to delay the closing process.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a refrigerator, and more particularly to a refrigerator having an ice dispenser and a delay mechanism for delaying closing of an ice duct of the ice dispenser. Background technique [0002] Generally, a refrigerator is an appliance having a refrigerator and a freezer kept at a predetermined low temperature. Refrigerators employ refrigeration cycle equipment with a refrigerant, including a compressor, condenser, expander, and evaporator. [0003] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional refrigerator in which a refrigerator compartment and a freezer compartment are opened. As shown in FIG. 1 , the refrigerator includes a refrigerator compartment F and a freezer compartment R separated by a partition 1 . In the main body 2, a refrigeration cycle device for keeping the refrigerator compartment F and the freezer compartment R at a low temperature is installed. A refrigerating chamber door 6 is connected to the main ...
