Abstract

The invention discloses a virtual media access control composed of a forwarding control unit for receiving message from an interface unit and searching a physical port corresponding with a forwarding list item in an allocation unit of forwarding list item based on the destination address in the said message, and sending the message to the interface unit; an interface unit for receiving the message from the virtual MAC subnet internal nodes connected with each other and sending the message to the forwarding control unit or receiving the message from the forwarding control unit and sending the said message to the corresponding physical port; an allocation unit of forwarding list item for storing the forwarding list item to the forwarding control unit to use. The invention also discloses an implement method and system of implementing the virtual MAC subnet. The invention can perform transmitting cross management field on Ethernet switching path (ESP), and implements the high lever concourse to the forwarding list item and saves virtual MAC address resource.
