Abstract

An approach that manages enterprise systems and applications using three-dimensional visualization technology is described. In one embodiment, described is a system for streaming visual representations of an enterprise in near-real time. A multitude of geographically distributed enterprise datacenters are each configured to obtain event data from hardware and software elements in the enterprise. A virtual command center is configured to receive the event data, aggregate the event data into a composite dataset representative of the current operation of the enterprise, compare the composite dataset to at least one three-dimensional model representative of the operation of the geographically distributed enterprise, and provide a visualization of the composite data and any difference that may exist. The visualization is a composite of a three-dimensional visual image of the current operation of the geographically distributed enterprise.

Description

technical field

[0001] The present disclosure relates generally to enterprise systems and applications, and more particularly to providing enterprise managers with near real-time streaming of visual representations of aspects of the enterprise using three-dimensional (3D) visualization techniques. Background technique

[0002] Currently, business managers use a large collection of disparate two-dimensional (2D) software tools such as web pages and client-server applications, depending on the middleware already deployed. These 2D software tools typically limit the amount of information available to business managers and others using the tool. Also, the different uses of 2D software tools require users to learn multiple tools in order to manage the enterprise. Therefore, it is difficult for business managers and others using these 2D software tools to quickly digest data and interact with the business. Therefore, better software tools are expected that can quickly digest dat...
