Raw medicines are achyranthes aspera, spurge, Physalis alkekengi, radix scrophularise, myrobalan flesh, and ballonflower. The medicine composition is suitable to treat lung heat and phlegmatic retention diseases of the acute pharyngitis (containing the acute attack of chronic pharyngitis), and symptoms are as follows: swollen sore throat, dryness and searing heat, or itchy throat and dry cough, dysphagia, cough and sputum viscosity, thirst with desire to drink, or fever, dry stool, scanty dark urine, or reddened tongue, thin yellow fur, and slippery and quick pulse. The medicine composition has efficacies of clearing away heat and toxic materials, reducing phlegm and resolving masses, and reducing swelling and relieving sore throat, has less medicine odours and specific drug potency, is safe and effective, and can be prepared into various oral preparations.
