Abstract

The present invention relates to surgical tool systems, and more particularly to interchangeable tools for surgical instruments. The surgical tool system may include a surgical instrument including a handle assembly in which a drive system is supported to generate drive motion through actuation of a movable handle portion coupled to the handle assembly. An elongated body extends from the handle assembly and operatively supports a lever within the elongated body that interacts with the drive system. The surgical tool system also includes at least two surgical tools selected from a surgical tool set comprising: a manipulator, forceps, scissors, an endoscopic cutter, a tissue thickness measuring device, a staple applier, a clip applier, Syringes and cauterization devices wherein each surgical tool in the surgical tool set has at least a housing removably connected to the elongated body and a drive assembly removably connected to a control rod to receive drive therefrom sports.
