The method comprises the followings: during start, a client starts a Boot program to send request messages to the server; the request messages are used for requesting the parameter information of the latest version program; the client receives response messages which are returned by the server and used for responding to the request messages; the parameter information is carried in the response messages; the client determines whether the local version program is the latest version program or not according to the parameter information, reads the latest version program from the server and loads the latest version program to a memory. By the method of the invention, the time for the client to store and load the new version program is shortened and the efficiency of upgrading is improved.
