Wireless communal gaming system

A system and method for wireless communal gaming in a casino environment. The system includes one or more wireless gaming devices each equipped with a display, one or more gaming servers configured to communicate wirelessly with the wireless gaming devices, and one or more financial servers configured to record financial transactions for players playing communal games of chance on the handheld gaming devices. The wireless approach to communal gaming allows greater player mobility within the casino establishment and also allows a large number of players (players playing wirelessly as well as players playing traditionally at a physical player station) to participate in a common game, thereby increasing the capacity of existing communal game tables. When the wireless game-playing option is available, a player can participate in the communal game regardless of whether there is a physical player station available. Thus, flexible game-playing options can be provided to casino patrons participating in a communal game.

Methods and systems to efficiently find similar and near-duplicate emails and files

A set of trigrams can be generated for each document in a plurality of documents processed by an e-discovery system. Each trigram in the set of trigrams for a given document is a sequence of three terms in the given document. A set of trigrams for each similar document is then determined based on the set of trigrams for the original document. To facilitate identification of the similar documents, a full text index is then generated for the plurality of documents and the set of trigrams for each document are indexed into the full text index, as individual terms. Queries can be generated into the full text index based on trigrams of a document to determine other similar or near-duplicate documents. After a set of potentially similar documents are identified, a separate distance criteria can be applied to evaluate the level of similarity between the two documents in an efficient way.

Method, system and devices for wireless data storage on a server and data retrieval

A method and system for remotely storing data on a server through a wireless connection instead of storing data locally in a consumer device, as well as devices for use with the method and system. More particularly, a video camera, still camera, laptop computer, or other consumer device which normally stores data in local memory such as film, disk, random access memory, memory sticks, or other forms of storage would transmit the data to a remote server through a wireless connection. The data would be saved on the remote server for subsequent retrieval through, for example, the Internet or a wireless connection to the server. In addition, data not originating from the user device could be downloaded to the consumer device. The data to be retrieved can be specified by the user, or sent to the user according to a user profile stored on the server.

System and method for simulation of virtual wear articles on virtual models

A system and method for designing a wear article for an object comprises providing a virtual three-dimensional model of the object, including first data representing three dimensions of the object. Virtual two-dimensional patterns representing different portions of the wear article are assembled into a virtual three-dimensional wear article. The virtual three-dimensional wear article includes second data representing three dimensions of the wear article. A material type is associated with one or more of the virtual patterns and the virtual three-dimensional wear article. The material type has third data representing at least one physical property of the material type. In order to display the virtual three-dimensional wear article on the virtual three-dimensional model, the first and second data are compared to determine the non-intersection of the virtual three-dimensional wear article with the virtual three-dimensional object. The virtual three-dimensional wear article is then conformed to the virtual three-dimensional model within constraints imposed by the third data. With this arrangement, the system and method enables the virtual wear article to stretch, flex, sag, etc., on the virtual model to better approximate the real-life fit and look of the wear article on an object during design of the wear article.

Insect resistance management with combinations of cry1be and cry1f proteins

The subject invention relates in part to stacking Cry1Be toxins along with Cry1Fa toxins to prevent insects from developing resistance towards either toxin by itself. As discussed in more detail herein, the subject pair of proteins is a particularly advantageous combination, as no other pair of proteins is known to provide high levels of control and non-cross-resistant activity against both Spodoptera frugiperda (FAW) and Ostrinia nubilalis (ECB) insects. This dual, non-cross-resistant activity is also advantageous because it can reduce the number of proteins / genes needed to target these insects with multiple, non-cross-resistant proteins. This can reduce or eliminate the need for refuge acreage. Accordingly, the subject invention also relates generally to using four genes to provide three proteins for non-cross-resistant control of a first insect, and three proteins for non-cross-resistant control of a second insect. In preferred embodiments, the targeted insects are FAW and ECB.
