Embodiment Construction
[0038] The present invention relates to a countertop appliance comprising a cooking control unit, wherein the cooking control unit has an ejection mechanism to facilitate removal of the control unit from the appliance body. The control unit has an attractive industrial design and customary method of operation, and contains the ejection mechanism in an unobtrusive manner. The ejection mechanism is intuitive and easy to operate. The ejection mechanism can be operated with one hand and does not require the user to touch the utensil body which may still be hot from preparing food. In operation, the ejection mechanism drives the control unit out of the appliance (eg, from the first few millimeters), thereby overcoming the lock caused by the friction between the control unit and the appliance body. The control unit can thus be easily retracted from the appliance and cleaned / stored.
