Abstract

The invention relates to a color wheel and a projector using the same. The color wheel provided by the invention comprises a main body and a cover body, wherein the main body is provided with a groove and a penetrating part; the groove is only wound around the circumference of a part of the main body and used for containing fluorescent powder; the penetrating part corresponds to the circumference of the other part of the main body not wound by the groove and is positioned between the two opposite inner walls of the groove; and the cover body is arranged on the main body and covered on the groove. When light rays are projected to the penetrating part of the main body, the first color light is projected through the penetrating part of the main body, or when the light rays are projected to the fluorescent powder, the light rays excite the fluorescent powder to project the second color light. The color of the second color light is different from the color of the first color light. The color wheel and projector provided by the invention can enhance the quality of pictures.
