The invention is made for solving the problem of the prior art that the user equipment couldn't obtain the SI-1 in the first system information scheduling period with a smaller system information window. A method for sending system information provided by the embodiment of the invention includes: obtaining the sending parameter of the SI-n system information; sending the primary information block and the system information block 1 containing the sending parameter, and sending the SI-n system information according to the sending parameter of the SI-n system information. With the invention, the power consumption of the user equipment for listening to the system information could be decreased greatly.
