[0014] Embodiments described herein relate to systems, devices, and methods for capturing images by using dedicated image sensors to capture the luminance and chrominance portions of the image. Image sensors may include one or more luminance sensors and one or more chrominance sensors to capture images of a certain resolution regardless of the position of objects in the image. In one embodiment, a brightness sensor may be disposed between two colorimetric sensors. The fields of view of the chroma sensors can be offset such that their potential dead zones do not overlap. Blind spots can be caused by obscurations that partially or completely block or obscure other objects that should be captured by the sensor. Therefore, for each pixel of the image sensor, chromaticity information is available.
