A fast-fill braking system comprising a master cylinder having a main pressure chamber having a first chamber portion forward of a second chamber portion, the first chamber portion having a diameter greater than the second chamber portion , and a primary piston comprising a first piston portion located within the primary pressure chamber and a second piston portion extending outside the primary pressure chamber, the first piston portion having a diameter (i) greater than that of the second piston part, and (ii) complementary to the diameter of said second chamber part.

Background technique [0002] The braking system typically includes a master cylinder fluidly connected to a downstream brake circuit. At the beginning of actuation, the master cylinder creates fluid pressure in the down brake circuit and displaces the fluid in order to place friction members of the brake system, for example, brake linings pressed against complementary surfaces such as rotors or drums piece. Under certain circumstances, the brake pads can move out of the rotor, creating a gap between the brake pads and the rotor. When fully actuated, the brake pads come into contact with the rotor, whereupon the brake pads perform the desired braking function.
