no. 1 approach

[0021] figure 1 It is a schematic diagram showing a schematic configuration of the image forming apparatus according to the first embodiment.

[0022] The image forming apparatus 100 is provided with a paper feeding unit 101 , an image reading unit 102 , an image forming unit 103 , and a fixing unit (decolorizing unit) 104 .

[0023] The paper feeding unit 101 supplies paper on which printing has been performed with erasable toner (hereinafter referred to as erasable toner) to the image forming unit 103 . The image reading unit 102 reads the printing state of the paper. The image forming unit 103 again transfers the decolorizing toner to the supplied paper, and conveys the paper to the fixing unit 104 . The fixing section 104 fixes the image of the decolorizing toner that has been transferred onto the paper on the paper using heat. In addition, the fixing unit 104 erases the decolorized toner image on the paper by applying heat of a predetermined temperature or higher to th...

[0045] In the second embodiment, the pattern of the decolorizing toner transferred onto the sheet 2 in the image forming section 103 is different from that of the first embodiment. Therefore, the same parts as those in the first embodiment are assigned the same symbols, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.

Image 6 It is a schematic diagram for demonstrating the decolorization method in 2nd Embodiment. refer to Figure 5 and Image 6 The operation of image forming apparatus 100 will be described.

[0047] In Act S01 , the reading unit 102 reads the printed surface of the paper 2 conveyed after being taken out by the paper feed roller R1 . Image 6 (a) shows the state of the printed surface that has been read. In Act S02 , the control unit 110 sets an area covering the printed portion of the printed surface (hereinafter referred to as the printed ...

[0051] In the third embodiment, the manner in which the decolorizing toner is transferred onto the sheet 2 in the image forming section 103 is different from the first embodiment. Therefore, the same parts as those in the first embodiment are assigned the same symbols, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0052] Figure 7 It is a flowchart showing the operation of image forming apparatus 100 in the third embodiment.

[0053] In Act S11 , the reading unit 102 reads the printed surface of the paper 2 fed by the paper feed roller R1 . In Act S12, the control unit 110 checks whether or not the printing ratio of the read printed surface is greater than a predetermined value T1. The printing ratio is a value represented by the following formula (1).

[0054] Printing ratio = (area occupied by the toner on the paper) / (area of the entire paper) formula (1)

[0055] When the printing ratio is larger than the predetermined value T1 (YES in Act S12 ), in Act S13 , ...

Abstract

According to one embodiment, the image forming apparatus includes an image carrier the surface of which is charged at a predetermined potential, an exposure device which forms a latent image by exposing the surface of the image carrier, a developing unit which develops a toner image generated using color erasable toner on the latent image formed on the surface of the image carrier, a transfer unit which transfers the toner image to a recording medium, and a controller which controls an operation for transferring a toner image of the color erasable toner to a printed surface of the recording medium to cover a printed portion of the recording medium to which the color erasable toner has been fixed.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application is based upon and claims the benefit of and priority from US Provisional Application No. 61 / 389897, filed October 5, 2010, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] One embodiment of the present invention relates to an image forming apparatus and an image forming method. Background technique [0004] Conventionally, there is known an image erasing device which erases an image formed on a sheet using erasable toner so that the sheet can be reused in the next image formation. In the erasable toner, the combination of the pigment and the color developing agent is cut off by heating, thereby erasing the color. In the conventional image erasing apparatus, it is necessary to heat the paper at, for example, 120° C. to 150° C. in order to erase the toner image.
