Problems solved by technology

However, due to physical conditions, this power enhancement cannot be increased as much as desired, so that current microprocessors mainly rely on several computing cores operating in parallel to increase their power
The method used in the past to use only one computing core to control the definition sequence of several programs used to control the machine is hardly suitable for distributing programs to multiple computing cores

Embodiment Construction

[0032] figure 1 A schematic overview of a controlled technical device 100 is shown. The controlled technical device 100 comprises a microcomputer 110 connected in a known manner to a main memory 120 , a read-only memory 130 , a display 140 and input means 150 . The microcomputer 110 typically includes at least one microprocessor (processor, central processing unit, CPU) and various additional components, such as voltage supplies and interfaces to the main memory 120 and to the ROM 130 . The display 140 and the input device 150 are provided to allow a user to operate the microcomputer 110 . The use of the microcomputer 110 can optionally or additionally be realized with an interface via a network and a further electronic computer system connected to this interface. In a specific embodiment, the display 140 and the input device 150 can be omitted accordingly.

Abstract

A processor comprises a plurality of processing units operating in parallel. Each processing unit is associated with a time signal generator upon the expiry of which the corresponding processing unit is capable to set expired time signal generator to a predefined duration of time. In case an end of the predefined duration of time deviates less than a predefined duration of time from a scheduled expiry of a time signal generator assigned to a different processing unit; predefined duration of time is modified.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a control method and a method for executing a plurality of programs on a plurality of processing units operating in parallel. Background technique [0002] Machines and plants are often controlled based on a control system (SPS) programmable from memory. For this purpose, microcomputers are generally used to execute programs that retrieve the status of some sensors respectively connected to the machine or equipment and based on the determined status switch on some actuators respectively connected to the machine or equipment. Complex machines or systems can each contain a multitude of sensors and actuators and place high demands on the performance of the microcomputer. [0003] Microcomputers often execute programs in parallel in order to control machines or equipment separately. The programs can interact with each other, or be independent of each other. For example, different programs place different demands on the microcomp...
