Abstract

The invention discloses a video image mosaic device, a mosaic method and a video surveillance system employing the mosaic device. The mosaic method comprises the following steps: acquiring a first image and a second image; identifying overlapping parts of the first image and the second image, namely a first sub-image and a second sub-image; calculating the average value of components of the first sub-image and the average value of components of the second sub-image; calculating the difference between the average value of the components of the first sub-image and the average value of the components of the second sub-image; using the difference to adjust the components of the second image; and achieving mosaic of the first image and the second image. Preferably, a first pixel is removed when the average value of the components of the first sub-image is calculated, and a second pixel is removed when the average value of the components of the second sub-image is calculated. According to the invention, chromatic difference caused after video image mosaic is effectively improved or eliminated.
