Problems solved by technology

This inefficient use of bandwidth is related to the lack of scalability of traditional systems, which cannot quickly adapt to changes in network bandwidth conditions to use existing bandwidth in an efficient manner
As such, the growth and usage of video services on terrestrial networks (e.g., the Internet) is inefficient, limited, cumbersome, and inflexible

Embodiment Construction

[0034]The presently issued embodiments generally relate to scheduled delivery of data over a terrestrial network. More specifically, embodiments herein relate to time-based routing of video feeds. Video feeds can be scheduled for publication within a time frame. An entity (such as, but not limited to, a local broadcast station) may order a video feed by submitting an order request. One or more destinations can be specified in the order request. Different delivery times can be specified individually for one or more destinations. Embodiments of the system receive order requests and determine whether sufficient resources are available to deliver video feeds to one or more destinations at respective delivery times.

[0035] One or more embodiments include time-based allocation for resources (eg, circuit bandwidth) to one or more data types that may be communicated over a terrestrial network. A circuit may include one or more ports, and typically includes multiple ports. Each ...
