Abstract

An image correction data generation system for a display panel using unpolished glass includes a signal generation unit, an image pickup unit, and a control unit. The signal generation unit supplies the display panel with a signal for outputting images to the display panel. The image pickup unit picks up an image to be outputted. The image pickup unit is capable of resolving a region smaller than the size of each of a plurality of pixels. The control unit includes an instruction unit, an image-acquisition unit, a high-pass filter, and a correction data generation unit. The instruction unit outputs to the signal generation unit a supply-instruction of a signal value which is common to the whole surface of the display panel. The image-acquisition unit acquires output image data from the image pickup unit. The high-pass filter calculates high-pass data by high-pass filtering of the output image data. The correction data generation unit outputs an image correction table which corresponds to the high-pass data.
