The method comprises the following steps of: establishing a main searching index and an increment searching index which are relative to retrieval key words; updating the increment searching index in fixed time in a shorter updating period than that of the updating period of the main searching index, and when the retrieval of key words is carried out, utilizing the main searching index and the increment searching index relative to the retrieval key words synchronously to carry out retrieval. The server comprises a index establishing unit and an increment index updating unit, wherein the index establishing unit is used for establishing the main searching index and the increment searching index which are relative to the retrieval key words; and the increment index updating unit is used for updating the increment searching index in fixed time in a shorter updating period than that of the updating period of the main searching index, so that when the retrieval of key words is carried out, retrieval of the main searching index and the increment searching index relative to the retrieval key words via synchronous utilization is carried out.
