Problems solved by technology

[0005] Cutting is a relatively mature vegetative propagation technique, but it is often used in dicotyledonous plants. Among monocotyledonous plants, only some plants of Liliaceae Asparagus and Commelinaceae have used cutting propagation methods, and it is rarely found in Gramineae. application

Embodiment 1

[0060] The cutting vegetative propagation method of switchgrass cultivar Alamo comprises the following operations:

[0061] (1) Remove the apical dominance and induce the development of axillary buds

[0062] a. At the beginning of August, select a single plant of Alamo, a robust switchgrass variety.

[0063] b. Cut off the switchgrass at a height of 50-60cm from the ground, leaving 3-4 nodes below.

[0064] (2) Culture substrate preparation

[0065] Purchase the flower culture soil culture substrate from the flower greenhouse. The ingredients are 2 parts of cultivation soil (garden soil), 6 parts of humus soil, and 2 parts of river sand.

[0066] (3) Take materials

[0067] a. After 20-30 days after the top of the switchgrass is cut, the axillary buds at the top can grow into lateral buds with a length of 15-20 cm.

[0068] b. Cut off the side buds together with 3 to 5 cm above and below the node where they are located from the plant.

[0069] (4) Processing of cuttings ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a switchgrass cuttage vegetative propagation method which comprises the following steps: when the switchgrass grows to period with 4-6 knobs, removing the top and leaving 3-4 knobs below the top so as to break the apical dominance and prompt the growth of axillary buds on the knobs below; when lateral buds of 15-20 cm long grow from the axillary buds, cutting the lateral buds together with the parts which are 5 cm long above and below the knobs, so as to be the cuttings; trimming the cuttings and carrying out TDZ (Thidiazuron) rooting powder treatment, and cuttaging the cuttings into a culture medium to carry out rooting culture; and transplanting to a greenhouse or a land after the rooting is accomplished. According to the switchgrass cuttage vegetative propagation method disclosed by the invention, the vegetative propagation is tried on perennial switchgrass of the grass family by using the cuttaging method, and unexpected and good breeding effect is achieved; and the method has the characteristics of being simple and feasible, high in survival rate, unlikely to have variation and the like, and is particularly applicable to providing materials for switchgrass biotechnology study.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of switchgrass propagation and relates to a method for asexual propagation of switchgrass cuttings. Background technique [0002] Switchgrass (English name Switchgrass, Latin name Panicum virgatum Linn) is a perennial herbaceous plant of Gramineae, native to North America, which has the characteristics of simple cultivation, strong stress resistance and wide adaptability. Researchers gradually introduced it to semi-arid loess hilly and gully areas and Ansai, Shaanxi and other areas. switchgrass belongs to C 4 Plants with high annual biomass production were originally mainly used as feed crops and garden crops. In the 1980s, the US Department of Energy (US Department of Energy, DOE) selected them as model energy plants. Since then , all countries have increased the research on switchgrass. [0003] At present, the research on switchgrass at home and abroad is mainly concentrated in the fields of agricultur...
