AI Technical Summary

Problems solved by technology

Increased fluid concentration and inability to remove waste products from the blood can also lead to electrolyte and pH imbalances, which will affect the heart's contractility and efficiency
In addition, during hemodialysis or other fluid removal therapy, rapid changes in fluid volume or blood pH or electrolyte concentrations can place additional stress on the heart and may result in high morbidity in patients receiving blood fluid removal therapy

Abstract

Uses for monitoring patient parameters and blood fluid removal system parameters include identifying those system parameters that result in improved patient parameters or in worsened patient parameters. By comparing the patient's past responses to system parameters or changes in system parameters, a blood fluid removal system may be able to avoid future use of parameters that may harm the patient and may be able to learn which parameters are likely to be most effective in treating the patient in a blood fluid removal session.

Description

[0001] related application [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Patent Application No. 13 / 424,533, filed March 20, 2012, which claims U.S. Patent Application Nos. 61 / 480,539, 61 / 480,544, 61 / 480,541, 61 / 480,535 , 61 / 480,532, 61 / 480,530, and the priority of US Provisional Application No. 61 / 480,528, each of which has a filing date of April 29, 2011. The portions of the provisional applications that do not conflict with the content disclosed in this application are hereby incorporated by reference in their entirety. technical field [0003] The present disclosure generally relates to devices, systems and uses for monitoring patient and system parameters of a blood fluid clearance session. Background technique [0004] Patients undergoing hemodialysis or other treatments that remove fluid from the blood often die from heart complications. Many factors may have contributed to this death, including the stress on the heart due to the increased volume of blood fluid i...
