Abstract

The invention discloses a sign language translation system which comprises an image acquisition module, a storage module, a sign language image matching module and a text output module. The storage module comprises a first storage unit and a second storage unit which are used for storing standard sign language images and text messages respectively, and the text messages and the standard sign language images have corresponding identifiers. The image acquisition module comprises a camera and an image converting unit, the camera is used for acquiring gesture images, the image converting unit is used for converting the gesture images into the standard sign language images, and the standard sign language images processed by the image converting unit are transmitted to the sign language image matching module. The sign language image matching module is respectively connected with the first storage unit and the second storage unit, so that the received standard sign language images are compared with the standard sign language images stored in the first storage unit, the same standard sign language images are found, and the corresponding text messages are extracted and transmitted to the text output module. The text output module is used for receiving and displaying the text messages.
