Embodiment Construction

[0025] Various example embodiments will now be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which some example embodiments are shown, in which like numerals refer to like components, components, or features.

[0026] figure 1 A flowchart showing a calibration method for a multi-layer three-dimensional display (MLD) according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0027] In step 101, the three-dimensional display is controlled to display the first image on only one display layer. In other words, the 3D display uses only one display layer to display the first image. The display of the first image on a display layer can be realized through a setting interface or buttons on the three-dimensional display or through a control or debugging interface. The first image here can be any image.

[0028] In step 102, the image capturing device is controlled to capture the displayed first image to obtain a second image. At this time, the second image may inc...

Abstract

Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for calibrating 3D display of multiple layers. The 3D display having a plurality of display layers is controlled to display a first image on one of a plurality of display layers. The first image is photographed to obtain a second image. Homography between the display layers and an image pickup unit is calculated using the first and second images. A positional relationship of the display layer with respect to the image pickup unit is calculated using the homography.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of three-dimensional display. More specifically, it relates to a calibration device and a calibration method for a multi-layer three-dimensional display. Background technique [0002] Recently, multilayer three-dimensional (3D) displays (MLDs) have gained increasing attention in the field of 3D displays. Generally speaking, a multi-layer 3D display is formed by a plurality of parallel two-dimensional (2D) display layers stacked along a thickness direction to generate 3D visual effects. A variety of MLDs with different working principles have been proposed, including: depth fusion display (DFD), parallax barrier (parallax barrier), light field reconstruction (Light Field Recreation), etc. [0003] In practice, the actual hardware characteristics of MLDs may differ from their original design due to possible errors in the manufacturing and installation process. These differences often lead to system errors that degrad...
