Said converter utilizes carrier wave phase shift PWM control to convert the three-phase AC input power supply into AC output with a line voltage at 2N+1 level so as to supply the load with the AC / AC converted AC output with the line voltage at 2N+1 level, and the voltage stress sustained by each switch tube in the MMC power switching units is only 1 / N of the DC power supply voltage, thus effectively solving the problem of voltage sharing among the switch tubes and being suitable for high voltage and large power applications.
