A method of repairing a timber roller coaster track may include: removing a layer of laminate; and replacing the layer of laminate with a metal bearing layer.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to US Provisional Patent Application No. 61 / 623,521, filed April 12, 2012, the entire disclosure of which is hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The methods and apparatus disclosed herein relate to tracks for rolling vehicles, and in particular to tracks for roller coasters. The methods and apparatus disclosed herein also relate to structures that include rails or other elongated curved forms, such as amusement park rides, ski lifts, stairs, rail vehicle systems, and the like. Background technique [0004] Tracks, rails, and other elongated curved form structures constructed entirely or primarily of wood or other non-metallic materials require periodic maintenance. The construction of such structures typically involves multiple layers of such materials, such as wood. For example, two or more layers of wood may be laminated together to form a track, eg, a roller ...
