Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and device for discovery detection in device-to-device communication. In the invention, for a first device side the method comprises creating a discovery data packet for each discovery cycle among a predetermined number of discovery cycles, wherein each discovery data packet contains identical discovery information and said predetermined number is greater than 1. Said method further comprises using, in each discovery cycle among the predetermined number of discovery cycles, logically identical discovery channels to send to at least one second device a discovery data packet. For a second device side the method comprises: receiving, during each discovery cycle among a predetermined number of discovery cycles, a discovery data packet sent by a first device via logically identical discovery channels; and soft-combining a predetermined number of discovery data packets. The method further comprises detecting discovery information in soft-combined discovery data packets. In embodiments of the present invention, the diversity gain of soft-combined discovery data packets is enhanced, thereby improving the detectability of discovery information.
