Abstract

The invention provides a channel ordering method for a set top box. The channel ordering method comprises the following steps: the set top box monitors channel switching behavior in real time in a preset time limit, and when switching the current channel, the set top box judges whether the standing time of the current channel reaches the preset time or not; if the standing time of the current channel reaches the preset time, the ordering weight value of the current value is added with a fixed value; when the standing time of the current channel exceeds the preset time limit, all the channels in the channel list are reordered according to the priority of the ordering weight values of the channels; when the first channel in the user channel list is selected to play, and advertisements are played in the first channel, the set top box automatically switches to the second channel of which the ordering weight value is adjacent to the first channel, and after the advertisements in the first channel end, the set top box automatically switches back to the first channel.
