Abstract

The construction method comprises that an icosidodecahedron and a variant thereof are constructed, a pseudo-random planar variation motif is established via synchronous rotation and rotation angle control of pentagons; pseudo random points between the surface and the boundary of the variation motif side are established; triangular configuration is subdivided via central points of the variation motif side, central triangular points, boundary central points and random points; and thus, nodes of the motif are expanded in the planar topology. A geodesic projection method is used, topology mapping and transformation are carried out on an external sphere of the variant of the icosidodecahedron via all the nodes of the variation motif, and thus, the main reticulated shell of the spherical polyhedron is established. The metal radome is compact in structure, the product processing, preparation and engineering practicality is high, processing and insulation are rapid and simple, and the metal radome can be used for national electronic, meteorological and heavenly body observation radars.
