Abstract

The invention discloses an electronic program guide display method based on watching duration. The method comprises the steps that watching duration vectors of various types of IPTV service labels of a user are calculated; the use duration vector, which is corresponding to each service label, of an IPTV system service is calculated; the use duration vector of each service label forms the use duration proof, which is corresponding to each service label, of the IPTV system service; an electronic program guide acquires watching duration ratio vectors of various types of IPTV service labels of the current user according to the user ID; the IPTV service integrated watching duration ratio of a last user is calculated; and the watching duration ratios of the current user are in descending order and displayed. According to the invention, the integrated watching duration ratio calculated through the personal history watching of the users and the whole history watching of the IPTV system is used as a data basis to display personalized services for the users in the electronic program guide system, which enhances the service use experience of the users.
