Abstract

A poppet valve is provided that includes a housing, a movable armature disposed within the housing, a detent pin having a first end and a second end, and a return member associated with the detent pin. A first end of the locating pin is associated with and driven by an armature, and a lifting member is arranged around a second end of the locating pin. A cage is provided around the riser, the cage having transverse openings adapted to allow water to flow therethrough. The armature is selectively energized to drive the detent pin in a first direction toward a closed position in which the lateral opening of the cage is blocked by the lift member. The return element drives the positioning pin in a second direction towards an open position in which the transverse opening of the cage is not blocked by the lifting member.
