Abstract

The invention discloses a stable liquid detergent composition with a transparent appearance. The composition comprises, by weight, 0-30% of saturated fatty acid, 0.1-30% of unsaturated fatty acid, 0.1-5% of divalent metal ion salt, 0.01-30% of surfactant and 0.01-30% of additive, wherein the surfactant is any one of or the mixture of two or more of anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant and zwitterionic surfactant. The invention further provides a method for controlling the appearance of the liquid detergent composition to be transparent on the condition that the composition contains a large number of divalent metal ions (such as calcium and magnesium ions). By controlling the content of the unsaturated fatty acid of the liquid detergent composition, the appearance of the composition is still transparent on the condition that the composition contains a large amount of divalent metal ion salt.
