Embodiment Construction

[0137] The present invention can be implemented in various forms. Referring to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals denote like elements, figure 1 An exploded isometric view of an exemplary embodiment is shown in . The exemplary merchandiser system 10 includes a product dispensing tray 12 with an exemplary trackless ejector mechanism 14 mounted therein. As described below, the ejector mechanism 14 will fit within the tray 12 and slide along the surface of the tray without the use of rails, rails or guides typically used to hold conventional ejector mechanisms to the tray or tray floor. The ejector mechanism defines an ejector plate and an ejector floor extending toward the ejector plate. A coil spring may extend across the ejector floor and be operatively connected to the tray at a forward location on the tray. In one aspect of the invention, the product to be vended may be arranged on a tray in front of the ejector plate and may rest on the ejector floor and the c...

Abstract

A product management display system for vending products on shelves includes the use of a trackless ejector mechanism that travels along the surface on which the products are arranged and one or more dividers for separating the products into rows. The one or more dividers are engageable to the front rail under two different conditions, locked and unlocked. In the locked condition, the relationship between the divider and the front rail resists movement relative to each other in any direction. In the unlocked condition, the divider is free to slide sideways along the front rail while remaining perpendicular to the front rail. The one or more dividers are lockable to the front rail by utilizing corresponding teeth, resilient surfaces, locking tabs, locking bars and / or cams that may define cam slides.
