Abstract

According to the present invention, the synthetic base drilling fluid base oil is formed by mixing Fischer-Tropsch synthetic oil and non-conventional petroleum-derived fine chemical base oil, and contains at least 35% by mass of a variety of C9-C20 n-alkanes, at least 60% by mass of a variety of C9-C20 branched or cyclic alkanes, and less than 0.5% by mass of aromatic hydrocarbon, the kinematic viscosity of the synthetic base drilling fluid base oil at the temperature of 40 DEG C is 2-3 mm<2>/s, the pour point is -10 to -30 DEG C, and the flash point is 50-80 DEG C.
