1249 results about "Flash point" patented technology

The flash point of a volatile material is the lowest temperature at which vapours of the material will ignite, when given an ignition source. The flash point is sometimes confused with the autoignition temperature, the temperature that results in spontaneous autoignition. The fire point is the lowest temperature at which vapors of the material will keep burning after the ignition source is removed. The fire point is higher than the flash point, because at the flash point more vapor may not be produced rapidly enough to sustain combustion. Neither flash point nor fire point depends directly on the ignition source temperature, but ignition source temperature is far higher than either the flash or fire point.

Method for producing high-arene environment-friendly rubber oil

The invention relates to a method for producing high-arene environment-friendly rubber oil. The method comprises the steps of taking heavy-solvent extract oil of a lubricating-oil solvent-refining device as raw material, adding an auxiliary agent to the raw material and then refining solvent, wherein the heavy-solvent extract oil has the flash point higher than 200 DEG C, the kinematic viscosity greater than 15.0 mm<2>/s at 100 DEG C and the CA value greater than 35.0 percent; the auxiliary agent is single-hydrocarbon or light-hydrocarbon oil with low density, low viscosity and boiling point between 80 and 300 DEG C; the solvent is N-methyl pyrrolidone, phenol or furfural; a refining tower has the temperature between 50 and 100 DEG C on the top and has the temperature between 30 and 100 DEG C on the bottom; and the mass ratio of the raw material to the auxiliary agent to the solvent is 1.0:0.1-0.5:2.0-5.0. Refined oil is high in arene content; the CA value of the refined oil is above 19.0 percent; the arene content of the refined oil is greater than 50.0 percent; the PCA content of the refined oil determined by an IP346 method is less than 3.0 percent; the benzopyrene of the refined oil is less than 1 PPM; and the total content of eight specific polyaromatic hydrocarbon is less than 10 PPM.

Low-viscosity polymeric colorants exhibiting high color strength characteristics

New and useful low viscosity polymeric colorant formulations are provided comprising extremely low amounts of viscosity modifiers that drastically reduce the overall viscosity of the resultant colorant formulation as compared with the viscosity of the colorants themselves. In such a manner, the resultant formulation facilitates the utilization of such polymeric colorants within certain coloring processes and methods requiring low viscosity formulations while simultaneously permitting substantial retention of the same high color strength characteristics of the unmodified colorants. Such an unexpected result thus permits production and utilization of a low viscosity formulation that does not sacrifice colorability to an appreciable degree for target substrates or media. The inventive formulations thus comprise any number of polymeric colorants, (i.e., oxyalkylenated colorants comprising at least one chromophore constituent and at least oxyalkylene chain) and at least one viscosity modifying agent possessing a dipole moment of between 1.0 and 5.0 and/or a flash point of from about -20° C. to about 180° C. Such a modifying agent provides a significant reduction in viscosity at low levels (to permit better pumpability of the desired colorants) with no appreciable differences in coloring performance within final target media, and facilitates removal of such modifiers during or after utilization. Methods of production, utilization, and products produced with such formulations and by such methods are also encompassed within this invention.
