Abstract

The invention provides a method and an apparatus for judging POI data in a text. The method comprises the steps of extracting a to-be-judged text string, performing word segmentation processing on the to-be-judged text string to generate one or more target segmented words, and matching one or more target segmented words with POI data entries; when one or more matched POI data entries exist, reading field values of character lengths corresponding to the matched POI data entries; based on the target segmented words and the field values, judging suspected POI name segments in the to-be-judged text string; and determining POI data in the suspected POI name segments. According to embodiments of the invention, the problem of relatively low search efficiency caused by searching a character substring consisting of adjacent characters subjected to word segmentation in a dictionary established by a POI name set in the prior art is solved.
