Abstract

The invention discloses a 3D augmented reality display system based on complex-amplitude grating modulation. With the system, a real 3D image and an outside real scene can be superposed. The system comprises an amplitude-only spatial light modulator, a 4f lens system, a sine grating, a phase shifter, and a half-transparent and half-reflecting mirror. The amplitude-only spatial light modulator and the sine grating are sequentially placed on an input focal plane and on a spectrum plane of the 4f lens system. The phase shifter is placed near the amplitude-only spatial light modulator. The half-transparent and half-reflecting mirror is placed behind and a certain distance away from an output focal plane of the 4f lens system. The two partitions of the amplitude-only spatial light modulator are respectively loaded with two holograms. Under the irradiation of laser, the two holograms are modulated by the sine grating in the frequency domain of the 4f lens system, and are synthesized into a target complex-amplitude wave front in the output plane. The target complex-amplitude wave front is propagated to the half-transparent and half-reflecting mirror and is coupled and superposed into the vision of the human eye through the half-transparent and half-reflecting mirror.
