The purification process comprises the steps of suspending the collected gelatinous precipitate in 15-25 times of volume of HCl solution, hydrolyzing in boiled water bath for 8-12 hours, cooling, then centrifuging and collecting solid particles; successively washing the collected solid particles by using ethyl alcohol, ethyl acetate and acetone in sequence, then precipitating repeatedly by using the NaOH solution and the HCl solution to obtain melanin particles.
