Abstract

The invention provides an extraction method of banana peel melanin. The extraction method comprises an extraction process and a purification process, wherein the extraction process comprises the steps of boiling banana peel with water, removing impurities, adding a NaOH solution being 1-3 times of volume of the banana peel for extracting for 8-12 minutes, then adding an HCl solution for regulating pH to be smaller than 2.5, centrifuging and collecting to obtain gelatinous precipitate. The purification process comprises the steps of suspending the collected gelatinous precipitate in 15-25 times of volume of HCl solution, hydrolyzing in boiled water bath for 8-12 hours, cooling, then centrifuging and collecting solid particles; successively washing the collected solid particles by using ethyl alcohol, ethyl acetate and acetone in sequence, then precipitating repeatedly by using the NaOH solution and the HCl solution to obtain melanin particles. The extraction method of banana peel melanin is simple to operate; the banana peel melanin is high in extraction amount and high in purity; the melanin oxidation degree is low; the extraction period is short; in addition, the cost is low; the method is applicable to large-scale extraction of the banana peel melanin; the economic value of the banana peel is improved; the application field of the banana peel is broadened.
