Abstract

The invention discloses an auxiliary downhill control system and control method based on a retarder. The auxiliary downhill control system comprises a signal acquisition unit, an electronic control unit and the retarder, wherein the signal acquisition unit is used for acquiring an opening signal of a brake pedal, an opening signal of an acceleration pedal and a vehicle speed signal; the electronic control unit performs logic judgment according to the three signals and automatically starts or quits an auxiliary downhill control program; after the auxiliary downhill control program is started, the electronic control unit calculates brake torque according to the state of the vehicle and controls the retarder to output the brake torque, so that the vehicle speed is in a proper level and is not increased any more. The retarder is taken as a control object, a control system is established, control strategies are formulated, automatic starting and quitting in an auxiliary downhill mode are realized, the vehicle speed is in a proper level and is not increased any more, the active safety of the vehicle is effectively improved, and the driving burden of a driver is reduced.
