Various techniques are described herein that relate to providing assistance to operators in a data center with respect to failures in the data center. Alerts are received, and faulty devices are identified based on the contents of the alert. The fault conditions of the alarm are mapped to fault symptoms that may be exhibited by the failed device, and the troubleshooting options previously used to mitigate the fault symptoms are retrieved from historical data.
